The team woke up this morning on NWHCM’s main campus in St. Louis du Nord.  They got a tour of the campus and went through orientation and then had free rain to get involved with any ministry that they wanted to.  Lil said the girls LOVED playing in the baby orphanage, and Toni went down to the Gran Moun (which literally means old people) and put lotion on their dry hands and feet.  I’m sure they were so appreciative.

After lunch the crew left with interpreters, security, and a few NWHCM interns (that happen to also be Rising Students) and made the journey to Chansolme.  Chansolme is the town that The Rising has adopted and where our students purchased land. When they got to town they went out to see the new land and saw that wire had been put up to show the boundaries of the land.  The team spread out and prayed aloud together for Chansolme, Pastor Blanc, and the church that will be going up on this land.  As they prayed it was a little rainy and they saw a rainbow come up over their heads.  Lil said it was a really cool moment.

The team had their first “shower” in the river.  I heard that they loved washing their hair in the waterfall.  After showers they were able to be a part of a church service or revival at the church in Chansolme.  Church services in Haiti last much longer and include way more dancing than services at Northside!  I am sure the team is tired and ready for some sleep after a long day.  Tomorrow they wake up and start digging the foundation of the church!
