Last day in Haiti
Today is our last day in Haiti and so many unbelievable events have taken place along this journey. We are continuing to be the face of God and making the most of every moment and opportunity we are given. It is so incredible to witness the love and true happiness that the people here show each and everyday regardless of their circumstances. Today we had the experience to ride a tap tap to...

A nice surprise...
The team spent their day at the orphanage in Salines Mayette loving on the kids there. They did a VBS and then passed out dolls to all the younger girls. As a surprise the team traveled to a place called The Bay. Our friends Grant and Natasha are missionaries with NWHCM out there. They all went to this private beach with really blue water and had an afternoon at the beach. Tonight fret dinner...

headed west
I didn’t hear from the team today, but I talked to Hickory, and intern, this morning.  He said that the river was down and they were for sure headed out west to Saline Mayette where the orphanage is.  I think the team will be really excited to be spending time with all the little kids, but conditions in the west are a little harder than they have experienced so far.  Not only is there no...

More happenings from Tuesday
Since the team was I’m St Louis they joined in on some work that was going on. Some guys went to help set up tents for a cholera clinic. Other guys worked in the Miriam center hanging swings for the kids. The girls washed hands and feet of the elderly at the Gran Moun and put lotion on them. Some even painted their nails. The girls also had the opportunity to go to a brothel and prayed...

We were headed for Salines Myette this morning but due to the river water being too high we had to make a detour back to campus for the day. I’ve enjoyed spending time with our team. Just Dance!
After a long day of passing out over 100 Toms shoes…Tonight the team held a “Just Dance” tournament.  They had about 100 Haitians competing with over 150 more just there to watch the tournament.  Lil said that everyone had so much fun with the dance game and the team is getting really good at working together! Tonight marks the half way point of the trip.  As you pray for our...

Hanging out in chansolme
This morning the team had church in chansolme. Matt Richardson preached to the Haitian church, which is always an experience when you have someone translating your every word. The team did all of their programs again today. They did more digging on the foundation, served another 80 kids at VBS and played a soccer game of Haitians vs. Americans….my guess is that the Haitians won! ...

Day 1 in Haiti
The team woke up this morning on NWHCM’s main campus in St. Louis du Nord.  They got a tour of the campus and went through orientation and then had free rain to get involved with any ministry that they wanted to.  Lil said the girls LOVED playing in the baby orphanage, and Toni went down to the Gran Moun (which literally means old people) and put lotion on their dry hands and feet....

Miami
We made it to Miami! After a longer wait than expected at the Louisville Airport we are in Miami. God is already preparing us to be flexible. One thing about Haiti is things don’t always go as planned and we got our first lesson of that today. We can handle a two hour delay! We all got into our rooms then ate pizza for dinner. Now everyone is settling down and going to bed so we are ready...
